Operations
We received $700 from Walmart from the grant we applied for for new computers. We purchased a new desktop and are considering a laptop.
Charlie Lewey of Norfolk is PHS’s new handyman. He has been coming to PHS a few times a week and very busy with repairs. He switched two exterior doors, and had Potsdam Paper (his employment) donate the repairs to the Multipurpose Room door (estimated at $1,100)- we are getting more information so we can send a donation receipt and a thank you, repaired and laid crusher for a small shed. He is currently working on insulating the intake area- which will help us with our heat bill. This winter he will be building the Memorial benches.
The public Rabies & Microchip Clinic we hosted on November 5th brought in a little over $1,000. We will have a set annual schedule for 2015 for January.
The animal cruelty case pertaining to “Simba” has been postponed to January.
I have an unofficial quote from Advanced Business Systems (suggested by Carrie) for a solution to our current printer. He is suggesting a 5 year lease at roughly $115/month. This includes new equipment, all service, supplies, and installation. We figured out that we are spending conservatively $150/month in ink alone. I am expecting an exact quote and specifics next week.
We are going to have a Home for the Holidays adoption special running Saturday November 22nd –December 31st with all adult animals will be half price.
Fundraising
Betty has gotten a schedule with more Centerplate Opportunities. We need 20 volunteers on each day for each event. Volunteers must be 16 years of age and wear black pants. Working these events could generate $10k or more.
