1. PR for $20,00. grant from RD for paving.
2. Soft Opening – Anne
3. Dedication Celebration (Grand Opening)
1. John will write an article on the grant from RD for the paving. He will get more info from Bonnie B.
2. Soft Opening – Series of events with light refreshments – week of Aug 15? Each day would feature who donated services, equipment, etc. to the shelter. John will write an article publicizing the events. Suggested events:
Mon. – Northern Music, Andy Van Dyne
Tues. – NCC Systems – TV spot
Wed. – Children donors – lemonade stands, etc.
Thurs. – Everyday Friends – Ashley House, Agway, etc.
Fri. – “Pitty” Party – promote pit bulls, dog events, etc.
3. Dedication Celebration (Grand Opening) – Oct. 15
PROPOSAL from PR Committee: Form an ad. hoc. committee to plan this event.
Decide what the purpose of this event is. Who, what, when, where, why?
What should the invitations look like?
Deadline for sending out the invitations should be Sept. 15.
PR committee recommends a late afternoon ribbon cutting with the press, tours of the facility and light refreshments.
Next meeting: Sept. 1, PHS shelter
