Finance Committee Meeting
May 10, 2011
Members Present: Jane Amelotte, Bonnie Boyd, Irene Hargrave, Helen Hollinger, Anne Smith.
Meeting started at 6:30 pm
Discussed repercussion of Massena Humane Society now doing their own surgery, Anne hopes to have Spay/Neuter Clinic supplement loss of revenue from Massena.
Committee discussed start up money for fundraising activities that Alycia would be organizing and agreed that she should just request funds at the time of the beginning of a fundraiser.
Grants – Jane and Irene will look at the Grants available through the County. Anne will look into DJ & T Grant.
Discussed need for more staff in order to clean and cover additional area of shelter created by the expansion of shelter. Anne will calculate amount of extra hours needed, looks to add about 25 hours cleaning and 15 hours clerical.
The Committee discussed the need to acknowledge memorial donations to the survivor of the deceased person. Anne said she will look into that and arrange to do that acknowledgement from the Shelter. Cindy will continue to thank the specific donor of the memorial donation.
Irene stated to the committee that she would like to, once again, bid out the accounting services for 2012. That will happen this fall.
Discussed possibility of importing donor base in filemaker to Quickbooks.
