Lady came to the Potsdam Humane Society on August 11, 2014. She was happily adopted in March 2015, only to be sadly returned a month later. This was no fault of Lady’s but the living situation of the person who adopted her changed for the worse. The PHS staff was thrilled when Lady was adopted in July 2015. It was the perfect match. Lady traveled all the way to Minot, North Dakota, only to learn that pit mixes weren’t allowed there. After a 3 day drive to her new home, because of ridiculous stereotypes and discriminatory laws, Lady was threatened with euthanasia if she stayed in the town. She and her adopter had to get back in the car for a 3 day drive back to PHS.
Lady is playful and outgoing! She likes walks (although she needs some leash work) and she rides well in cars. We have learned that Lady is housebroken- and she LOVES squeaker toys! The squeakers do not last long! Lady loves to play ball – she is great running after it- but we are still working on the bringing it back part! Lady wants to be the center of attention in her new home as she does not like the company of other dogs and cats. Lady is good with children, however she may tip over little ones when she is all excited.
Lady is such a sweet girl, she even caught the eye of a rescue in Syracuse, NY who even promoted her as their Adoptable Dog of the Week! Check them out and all the great things they do here:
