PHS would like to give a big hand of applause to all the participants in the 7th Annual Strut Your Mutt! A total of $9,215.18 was raised to help with medical costs to assist PHS as it strives to be a no-kill shelter.

The sunny day kicked off with a 5K walk and four “Pit” stop water stations. Walkers collected tickets at each station which gave them multiple chances to win over 50 prizes, generously donated by local businesses throughout St. Lawrence County.
From face painting, Abilene’s Old Time Pony Photos, and the musical talents of DJ Double Dutch, there were many activities for the whole family. New this year were agility demonstrations by the St. Lawrence Valley Dog Club, and the appearance of the Potsdam Batman.
Pastimes Concessions provided tasty food and goodies, while the Pepsi Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers were at the finish line to hand out water to walkers.
The Pine Street Arena was packed full of vendors displaying their items in the Craft & Vendor sale alongside the Clarkson & Potsdam Garden Clubs annual Plant Sale.
The Friends of Potsdam Humane Society group (FOPHS) raffled off baskets donated by community members and sold tickets for a 50/50 raffle.
It was a fun family friendly, pet friendly day for all and new ideas are rolling in for next year. Do not forget it is the first Saturday in May! (May 6, 2017).
