The Potsdam Humane Society, Inc. (PHS)* has been providing love and humane care for unwanted, abandoned, and sick animals since 1957. Our mission is to find a loving home for every adoptable animal that finds its way to our front door.

PHS serves the greater Potsdam area and contracts with seven other communities in the region to provide animal control services. In the last five years, PHS has found loving homes for beautiful animals in 34 communities in New York and several states.

PHS operates the Potsdam Animal Shelter at 17 Madrid Avenue in the Village of Potsdam. The shelter aspires to be a no-kill shelter, where an adoptable animal would never lose its life because of lack of space or cost of care.
